The Senior Band, conducted by Archie Hutchison, “swept the boards” at this annual event by winning overall for the third year in a row, beating 16 other bands, including three other championship section bands!
The band won the titles for best March, best Hymn Tune and best Test-Piece (Dances and Alleluias by Philip Sparke) with several other individual awards, including:-
Graeme McCulloch – Best Cornet Billy Whalen – Best Euphonium Derick Kirkwood – Best Trombone Archie Hutchison – Best Conductor. |
