West of Scotland Youth Solo & Ensemble Contest 2009

Our junior band players had a good day at this year’s event, held in Greenock on Saturday 31^st October.

 

12 years and under Ensembles.

Dalmellington Quartet came 3^rd.

 

12 years and under Solos.

1^st … Rachael Jones, Dalmellington

2^nd … Heather Cairns, Dalmellington

3^rd … Rebecca Wilson, Dalmellington

 

16 years and under Ensembles.

Dalmellington A Quartet came 1^st

Dalmellington B Quartet came 2^nd

 

16 years and under Solos.

We had 9 players in this section, who all performed well, but did not come in the top 3 prize winners list.

 

21 years and under Ensembles.

Dalmellington Quartet came 1^st

 

21 years and under Solos.

There were 8 players in this section and David McLean and Lindsay Roxburgh came 2^nd and 3^rd respectively.

 

 

Our thanks to Ian Taylor and Hugh Johnstone MBE for helping prepare our players for the event.

 

Well done to all our players, as always, we are very proud of them all!
